The Vice-Chancellor's Office is given the considerable duty of handling the gathering of information and assisting in the decision-making of important tasks of the University. The office ensures that the key personnel in the University are up-to-date on UM's current situation so that the correct and best decisions concerning the University are made.

Ably supported by the other offices of the Chancellery as well as the University as a whole, the office leads with confidence and dignity in the best traditions of University of Malaya.

  Department of Malaysia Studies @ Cairo University
  Created to enhance, increase and highlight the aspect of Malaysian sosio-economy among the people from Mesir and African. Moreover, it can built a strong relationships and collaborations between Malaysia and Mesir Republic. This centre also has a role of research, providing an informations, references and mind-changing among the researchers.

  QMEC
  University of Malaya Quality Management & Enhancement Centre (QMEC) based on the framework and requirements of MS ISO 9001:2000 has been in operation since June 2001. QMEC encompasses all the core processes in UM which includes teaching and learning, research and consultative activities and other supporting services. Visit QMEC website.
 
  Bright Sparks Unit
 
Bright Sparks unit aims to recruit outstanding students and scholars with deep interest in research and academic work to join the university's academic workforce.
 
  Internal Audit Unit
  The Internal Audit Unit of UM ensures the integrity of a wide range of operating activities in it's goal of helping the University reach its objectives.
 
  Security Office
  Responsible for the safety and security of the University staff, students, premises as well as the various high-tech machinery and cutting edge research work on University grounds.
 
  PALAPES
 
The training programme prepares students as ATM reserve officers and also helps IPTA specifically and the country in general in forming upstanding, disciplined and tolerant members of society of the future.
 
  International Student Centre (ISC)
  One-stop centre that serves and supports the needs for the international students.
 
  UM Environmental Secretariat
  In purpose to save the campus environment, this centre was created with eight (8) major group which are contributes the Environmental Awareness, Air, Energy, Water, Waste, Safety & Health, Biodiversity and Sustainability Group. Campus community has the aim to save energy, save water, minimize waste generation, reduce air pollution and reduce noise pollution to fulfil the spirit of “UM Environment I Care!”.
