The Global Planning and Strategy Centre was established under the Vice-Chancellor’s office. GPSC leads in the preparation and development of the University’s strategic plans and other strategies.
The main roles and responsibilities of GPSC include:

Leading, cocoordinating and developing the University’s strategic planning framework and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by working with different committees.
|
|

|
Monitoring the University’s and the faculties/Responsibility Centres’ performance and reporting on their progress.
|
|
-
|
Managing the integration, availability and coherence of data from various sources.
|
|
-
|
Analysing and providing relevant data and information on the aspects of the University’s performance to assist decision making.
|
|

|
Contributing to the development of University policies which include Talent Management, Succession Planning and Risk Management.
|
|

|
Coordinating leadership courses and workshops to support the development of Academic Administrators and the Professional and Management Group(Non Academic).
|
|

|
Acting as the institutional Program Management Office (iPMO) for the University to communicate with the PMO of the Ministry of Higher Education within the ePMO network for the monitoring of the National Higher Education Strategic Plans through performance monitoring of the Critical Agenda Projects (CAPs) of the University.
|

|
Facilitating the appointment of Academic Staff under the Academic Icon Programme.
|
|

|
Servicing of the following University Committees - University of Malaya Excellence Awards and International and Local Award Nomination.

Formulation and development of the UM Strategic Plan and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Monitoring and reporting of the progress of the faculties and Responsibility Centres in achieving their KPIs.

Providing one-stop data management.

|
Monitoring the Critical Agenda Projects (CAPs) of the University by benchmarking against the National Higher Education Strategic Plans.

|
Compiling the updated organisation structures of the University and the Responsibility Centres.
|
|

|
Facilitating the appointments of Academic Staff under the Academic Icon Programme.
|
|
-
|
Coordinating leadership courses/workshops for Academic Administrators and the Professional and Management Group.
