The International and Corporate Relations (ICR) office serves many different roles as the central office directly under the Chancellery. We seek to build, expand and improve relations with the University's local and international counterparts as it explores collaborative pursuits in research, academia and cultural exchanges. ICR also builds strong ties with corporations and the media with the objective to enhance student employment prospects, staff recruitment, student financial aid, and consultations. Functioning as the event management arm of the University, we assist the University in all major events and provide consultation on protocol matters.

International Relation
The International Relations Unit plays a vital role in the University's internationalization efforts in concert with the aspirations of the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia in its Strategic Plan launched in 2007. We coordinate and provide assistance to enhance international activities including visits and agreement protocol. This unit is responsible for the maintenance of bilateral agreements and participation in international networks and organizations.

Corporate Relation
The Corporate Relations Unit is the primary contact between University of Malaya and the media. We are responsible for enhancing public perception and maintaining a positive image of the University. The unit promotes UM achievements, activities, and events through the media and our corporate publications. We also provide advice and guidance to the campus community in order to enhance research achievements and positive profiling of the staff, academic centre and ultimately, the University.
