Moving away from home to study abroad is an exciting period of time in a student's life. Meeting new friends, exploring and discovering new places, adapting to new cultures and customs, enriching multicultural diversity are all new exciting realities that international students will experience. Nevertheless, the chances to absorb and develop will enrich the students knowledge.
University of Malaya consist of 13 residential colleges that could accommodate up to 12,000 students at one time. This amount represents about 65% of all the students pursuing their first degrees. Each residential hall is administered by a principal and assisted by several fellows. Besides the accommodation, the Residential Halls are also providing facilities such as game courts, reading rooms, grocery shops, cyber cafes and computer labs.
On-Campus Accommodation
Students' daily living expenses are depending on their needs and lifestyle. An estimated cost of accommodation, food, books, clothes, entertainment, local transportation, and other expenses for a single student are approximately RM700 to RM1000 per month (USD$200 - USD$280) for a single student.
