The Bachelor of Science (Biotechnology) programme unique course layout combines extensive study of science theory with intensive laboratory work, bringing science out of books and classrooms into real world environments.
Biotechnology is a rapidly emerging industry in Malaysia, and technicians well versed in molecular biology, genetics, genomics or plant biotechnology are necessary to push the boundaries of science and imagination.
The programme provides ‘high tech’ educational experience which incorporates both effective classroom-based learning and the use of relevant educational technologies. The programme improves the quality of the student learning experience within and beyond the classroom.
Students have the opportunity to undergo Industrial Training in government or private agencies of their choice (eg. JPH, MARDI, MPOB, IBHK, pathology labs, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies) where they will gain working experience. The research project component provides training opportunities to carry out research in well-equipped world class research laboratories.
This programme is a major in Biotechnology. Upon graduation, candidates will be conferred with Bachelor of Science degree.
