This programme is a major in English. Upon graduation, candidates will be conferred with Bachelor of Language and Linguistics degree.
English is one of the world's most widely used languages and is the dominant international language in communications, science, business, aviation, entertainment, diplomacy and the Internet. English is often extensively used as a second language, with anywhere between 500 million to over a billion people speaking the language.
English is used widely in either the public or private sphere in more than 100 countries all over the world. In addition, the language has occupied a prominent place in international academic and business communities. The current status of the English language at the start of the new millennium compares with that of Latin in most of Western Europe since the fall of the Roman Empire. English is also one of the six official languages of the United Nations.
This is a 3-year degree programme. At the end of their study, candidates will be conferred the degree Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics.
