This programme is a major in Tamil. Upon graduation, candidates will be conferred with Bachelor of Language and Linguistics degree.
Tamil remains to this day, one of the few living classical languages and has a traceable unbroken literary tradition of over two thousand years. Much of classical Tamil is preserved in modern Tamil literature, and forms an important part of Tamil-medium education. Tamil carries an international status as official language of Sri Lanka and Singapore, and has constitutional recognition in South Africa, Mauritius and Malaysia.
The Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics (Tamil) programme is a 3-year degree programme. At the end of their study, candidates will be conferred the degree Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics.
