Centre for Contruction,Building and Urban Studies (CeBUS)
Overview

CeBUS will be established within the Faculty of Built Environment (FBE) at the University of Malaya, in recognition of that a growing number of research activities were convening under a common theme of construction, building and urban studies. The Centre comprises an established, multi-disciplinary group of built environment specialists including building surveyors, facilities managers, property managers, planners, valuers, quantity surveyors, project managers and others. This brings a uniquely holistic inter-disciplinary approach to effective construction and facilities management of the built environment.

Research Centre for Urban Conversation and Tropical Architecture (UCTA)
Overview

UCTA is encouraging collaboration in projects and programs, focusing on three prime areas relating to Urban, Conservation and Tropical Architecture, involving issues on housing for the urban poor, urban accessibility, conducting measured drawing and dilapidation study on significant buildings which have been listed or have the potential to be listed under building conservation, thus  inventing innovative ideas for sustainable architectural design for tropical region, with passive design principles for architecture in tropical region, planning and designing strategies for low carbon emission, energy efficient and reducing heat island impact on the urban life,  establishing minimum standard requirement for human comfort, human health and safety risk, and ecological damage.
