SHAMSUDDIN AHMED MOHAMMED SHAHADAT
Dr. Shamsuddin Ahmed Muhammad Shahadat is currently an Assoc. Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya. He obtained his BScEng(Mech) from the reputed Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and secured 1st class, and Master of Engineering degree from renowned Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and PhD from University of Malaya. He has been in teaching in different universities since 1986. He joined the University of Malaya in March 1997. In University of Malaya, other than designing/introducing & teaching a good number of subjects for both undergraduate and postgraduate classes very successfully, he supervised to graduate six (6) PhD, and 15 MEngSc and MEng candidates. He is quite involved with OBE and PBL kind of teaching methodologies, and degree accreditation processes. To his credit, he published more than 80 journal papers and about 110 conference articles. About 40 of them were published in ISI-indexed journals/proceedings. His overall h-index is 14 (i10-index is 25) http://scholar.google.com/citations? and ISI h-idex is 6. Total ISI citation is about 130 and the overall citation is more than 1000. His research interests are in areas of manufacturing planning & control, green supply chain management, operations research, quality & reliability engineering, and maintenance engineering. Currently one post-doc fellow, 5 PhD and several masters' students are working under his supervision. He gave several invited lectures including key note lectures, and examined a good number of postgraduate theses from different universities. He administered several research projects as project leader (PI). He is supervising one High Impact Research and one Research University projects as PI. He reviewed about 40 papers for reputed Elsevier, Emerald journals (UK), IMechE, Hindawei, Inderscience and some other journals. He holds CEng(UK)certification, IET(UK) Membership, and IEB Life Fellowship (since 2000).
