Universiti Malaya (UM) and Erican Education Group marked a new chapter in their collaboration through an MoU Commemorative Signing and Networking Session held on 20 August 2026 at the UM Innovation Incubator Complex (UMX).
The MoU provides a platform for both institutions to explore mutually beneficial initiatives that leverage UM’s academic and research expertise alongside Erican’s extensive experience in education and industry. Potential areas include academic and professional development programmes, English language education, training and capacity building, research and knowledge exchange, student development and employability initiatives, as well as other collaborative projects of mutual interest.
Hosted by the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, the session brought together representatives from UM and Erican to discuss how the partnership can move beyond the MoU towards tangible activities and outcomes. An initial networking engagement with the Department of English Language also provided an opportunity to identify possible areas for early collaboration.
The partnership reflects UM’s continued commitment to strengthening university - industry linkages and developing collaborations that create meaningful opportunities for the wider university community.
