UM Delegation Visits Big Caring Group Bhd. to Explore Collaboration Opportunities

A group of students from the UM STEM Centre recently participated in the SEMICON Discovery Trail held in conjunction with SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur. The programme served as an interactive platform to expose students to the dynamic and rapidly evolving semiconductor industry.

The Discovery Trail was specially designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industrial applications through guided exhibition tours, mentoring sessions, and direct engagement with leading semiconductor companies and industry professionals. Throughout the programme, students gained valuable insights into emerging technologies, sustainability initiatives, design and fabrication processes, as well as potential career pathways within the semiconductor ecosystem.

The students also had the opportunity to participate in engaging activities, quizzes, and networking sessions that enhanced their understanding of the industry while fostering greater interest in STEM-related careers. In addition, the mentoring sessions enabled students to interact with experts and learn first-hand about the skills and competencies required in the semiconductor sector.

The participation of Universiti Malaya students in SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026 reflects the university’s continuous commitment to strengthening industry exposure and preparing students to become future-ready graduates equipped with relevant industry knowledge and global perspectives.
