UNIVERSITI MALAYA STRENGTHENS INDUSTRY COLLABORATION THROUGH ENGAGEMENT WITH BECTON DICKINSON

Universiti Malaya (UM), through the UM Centre of Industry Relations (UMCIR), together with representatives from the Graduate Employability and Career Centre (GECC) and the Centre for Integral Learning (CITRA), conducted a strategic engagement session with Becton Dickinson (BD) at the company's Kuala Lumpur office on 23 July 2026.

The discussion focused on exploring potential areas of collaboration in talent development, graduate employability, industry networking, internships, and strategic university-industry partnerships. As a global medical technology company operating in more than 190 countries with a strong presence in Malaysia, BD shared insights into its global operations, innovation ecosystem, and commitment to developing future-ready talent.

The engagement provided an excellent platform for both organisations to exchange ideas on strengthening academia-industry collaboration through experiential learning opportunities, industry exposure, and future collaborative initiatives that will benefit Universiti Malaya students and researchers.
